Figurative - Portraits

I understand that it takes years for some artists to finally "get it" so I guess I still have to put in work.  The charcoal is easy to do and the work goes quickly because it is such high contrast which really is the opposite of watercolor which takes a lot of timing/planning and knowledge of the medium.  Portraits are alright...I only tend to enjoy doing portraits when the subject really is captivating, a good contrast or composition over a merely interesting model.
