68” x 82”, was pieced to 90% completion in the early 1990’s by Bernice Delmont, mother of Dawn Klotzko, and was completed by Dawn in honor of her mother with long arm quilting using a Superior Thread and edge to edge pantograph feather inspired design.

Hope wall hanging

40” x 40,” This quilt rapidly developed as hours passed by in my studio on a weekend evening in March 2020. After releasing the personal upset of life disturbances, making peace with unplanned outcomes, the next emotional experience was Hope. The long arm quilting is inspired by a pantograph stitched in a variety of colored thread both solid and variegated to continue the rainbow color theme.

A Hug for my Heart

63” x 73” Sample memory quilt made by DK of Cabin Creek Stitchery using, with permission, an adapted version of a regionally local pattern designer Sue Pfau of Sweet Jane’s. My purpose in creating memory quilts is to help people preserve their memories using sentimental fabrics to honor loved ones and through the process of quilting find healing after loss. The quilt has shirt fabrics from a variety of people, a white sheet from my grandmother and backing and binding fabric originally purchased by my mother for her sewing exploration. The quilt is long arm quilted on my hand driven Nolting Pro 24 that was my mom’s vision for me to purchase to further develop my quilting skills. She passed away before she could see this achievement.

Peace wall hanging

, 45” x 45.” This quilt began developing at the end of March when I had a strong desire to establish peace within myself and spread the possibility to others. It was completed by the end of the 2020 year with custom and pantograph inspired long arm quilting in the negative space around the colorful rainbow fabrics.

Civil war quilt reproduction

90” x 90” is a civil war quilt reproduction that tells of block history in our country. My mother had intentions to begin and create this quilt however she passed away from cancer in 2015 before beginning. My mother bought me a sewing machine in 2001 so we could learn to quilt together. She is the historical influence in my life that equipped me to utilize my skills to redefine a new career in quilting. This quilt has backing fabric acquired while we shopped together before her illness and will be completed on the long arm quilting machine in her honor.

Exploration, wall hanging

40" x 40," priced $395, hand-appliqued by following a technique instructed by Sheri Cifaldi-Momil of Whole Circle Studio and complete with free motion long arm quilting in the negative space, originated by Dawn Klotzko.

Upper Jay,

Founder of Cabin Creek Stitchery, learned to quilt in 2000 when her mother bought her a sewing machine to attend evening quilting classes together. Her passion is to make a difference in people's lives through her work as a quilter and artist. She creates one-of-a-kind quilts by incorporating sentimental fabrics into each project. Preserving memories of loved ones and telling the story of special events inspires each quilt and helps her provide therapeutic benefits to her clients.

Her quilts have been displayed at The Quilt Show with the Adirondack Quilters Guild at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts (2019), Treadle to Technology Quilt Show with the Champlain Valley Quilters' Guild of New York in Plattsburgh (2017), the Annual Quilt Bazaar at Keene Valley Congregational Church (annually 2016-2019) and a solo exhibit at Wells Memorial Library in Upper Jay (2016).

She holds an MS in Physical Therapy (1997) from Springfield College, Springfield, MA. and currently holds a NY State Physical Therapy license. She resides in the Adirondacks raising her two children.
